Our Annual Mental Health Forum will feature a panel of Speakers including Jim VanDusen, Cordelia Clarke Julien, Rene Soetens and professionals from Lakeridge Health as well as Community Organizations showcasing Resources available to the public.
Our speakers will focus on day-to-day stressors affecting families and teach you ways to cope and overcome challenges. Listen to our panel members, ask questions, interact with our exhibitors and enjoy light refreshments. Don’t forget to fill out an entry ballot to win some great prizes.

Carion is a Board of Trustee, Vice Chair of the Board Quality Committee and Co-Chair of The Ajax Pickering Hospital Community Panel for Lakeridge Health, governing the 5 hospitals in Durham Region. She is a past Mayoral Candidate and a past Vice Chair and Accessibility Advisor to Council on the Accessibility Advisory Committee for the Town of Ajax.
Carion has earned several recognitions for her community service, including the Denise House 35 Courageous Woman Award; being named one of the 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women by the honourable Jean Augustine & her Co-authors; the Ontario Volunteer Service Award (10 YRS) from the Ontario Provincial Government; Adult Ajax Civic Award (Town’s Highest Honour); Education and Accessibility Community Award from the Town of Ajax; Spinal Cord Injury Ontario and University Health Network Patti Dawson Award and Advocacy Award from Abilities Awards.
