The Islamic Society of Ajax, by the Grace of Allah SWT, completed construction of the First Masjid in the Town of Ajax in the year 2016. The Masjid is located at the intersections of Taunton and Harwood Ave.  Ajax Masjid has become a focal point for the Muslims of Ajax. It is centrally located in the midst of a Muslim community and services the religious, social and recreational needs of this community. 

Carion Fenn Foundation presents our 1st Resilience Workshop focusing on Building Ones Resilience, Wednesday May 5, 2021 6:30pm - 9pm Eastern in partnership with Clarington Public Library, Lakeridge Health and Ajax Legion, and sponsored by the Township of Clarington and the Islamic Society of Ajax.

Change is growth.  That is the mantra of Cordelia Clarke Julien, a Change Management Specialist with over 20+ years of change and transformation experience.  As a self-profess change agent, Cordelia is well-known for her enthusiastic embrace of life changes. Whether as a professional public speaker, or through her life-change coaching sessions, Cordelia helps people to find the change and transformation they desperately seek. Corey Dixon is a Canadian actor and Motivational Speaker. He is known for his performances in several television series and commercials, including award winning television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. A performer from a very young age, Corey began his acting career in Theatre starring as lead role in family favourite shows such as Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, Aladdin and many more.

Our Workshop is FREE to the public and features speakers such as Lakeridge Health, Dr. Floyd Spence, Canadian Mental Health Association Durham with a Breakout Session by Change Management Cordelia Clarke Julien to help you unpack what you've learned and focus on Building your Resilience, the capacity to recovery from difficult times. Covid-19 has impacted us all, this workshop will focus on giving you tools to help you deal with your day to day lives. Learn how to recognize, build, or continue to build your resilience to be the best you.

David Clarke is Organization Development Trainer at Lakeridge Health. Formerly a long-time training coordinator with Durham Mental Health Services, he has worked locally in community mental health for over 25 years. David has provided education to organizations including Ontario Shores for Mental Health Sciences, the Ontario Ministry of Revenue, the Region of Durham, and the Whitby Chamber of Commerce.


Marie has been working in Adult Education for 15 years. Her focus has been in non-profit, employment, corporate training and recently moved to mental health education. She holds a Bachelor of Art’s Degree and a post-grad certification in Teaching and Training Adults along with other designations, including Personality Dimensions (Level II) and Soft Skills Solutions. She has extensive experience training diverse groups of people and continues to seek out exciting opportunities, with her most recent adventure managing the Recovery College Wellness Centre at CMHA Durham. With a flair for the dramatic and a love of all things that sparkle, Marie is grateful for the opportunity to participate in the learning journeys of her students and colleagues.

Whether helping local Veterans, supporting seniors, providing youth sports programs, raising funds, volunteering to help those in need, or simply offering a place to gather for fun and celebration, Legionnaires provide essential services in their communities. Legions help Canadians to honour and remember those that sacrificed for our Country. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 322 Ajax Ontario was founded in 1942 by Veterans and for Veterans. Our Poppy Campaign, Remembrance Day ceremony, Youth Education, Vetbuild Program, Seniors activities and other community fundraising initiatives are some of the ways we help our community. Plan to join our Legion today, any citizen of Canada or an Allied nation is welcome. 

Clarington Public Library (CPL) is an active and valued cornerstone of the community. We deliver innovative, quality services and programs out of four locations in Bowmanville, Courtice, Newcastle, and Orono. Our supportive and friendly staff will help you find what you are looking for and make you feel welcome. We provide the community with free wifi hotspots, quiet study spaces, meeting rooms, access to books, magazines, DVDs, video games, online resources, audiobooks, and eBooks.
